Package design roughs and idea

Our final project is out package design project. I have a few roughs but, i came up with the design idea of a single solid picture to wrap around the entire cylinder(pg 2)

For this project we were suppose to take a lond mark building and make a stamp out of it. I choose to do my project on the cameo theater on the east side on Binghamton on Robinson street.

Project 2: Stamp Design

Time for out second project of the semester this is is a stamp design through out the next few posts i will be posting pictures of thumbnails, roughs, and certain stamp designs i find interesting.

FINAL!

For my 1st project in art 125, Proctored by Mr. Groat, we designed a layout that has to do with sustainability. I very much enjoyed this project, even though it was hard for me to get some of my ideas down on paper. I had many ideas scattered about for this project but it was the few elements that I incorporated to my project that made it mine. My main word “Humanity” was relatively close in the proximity to the 2nd and 2rd most important words. I also tried to balance out much of the negative space by slanting words and adding in lines to move a person’s eye around the design. Another element that I incorporated was the variety of the text and fonts I used without making it looked to scattered and with that it made is seem very uniform in its design. One other element I was trying to incorporate very much into this project was the rhythm of the design if you notice I do not have any text by itself, either the text is followed by another text a shadowing or multiple lines. I did not want to be very flashy with one word and the rest becoming plan and un satisfying to the eye.
I believe my project successfully addressed at required criteria that was given. As my design revolved around the concept of humanity I decided to give 4 negative aspects of our world that we have a huge contribution in, Those four words are oil spills, landfills, wars, and global warming. With these words connected to the word humanity it gives a person looking at this design a feel of being discouraged and having no hope but, to change ones way and in turn changing the views of many people. As I came up with this idea I wanted something that would making a person think and say to them self “We are causing all of this changed and it’s not good for humanity.” While attempting this projects I have asked questions to try to learn Photoshop better than I did before I enterd this class. I’ve tried my hardest to accomplish only my best I could do on this project with the time given to me. I believe I did fairly well on this aspect of the class and I will strive only on contueing to get better as the semester goes on.
